EPL: Why Ralf Rangnick may not take charge of Man Utd against Arsenal

News

Manchester United’s new interim manager, Ralf Rangnick, might not take charge of the team when they host Arsenal in the Premier League this Thursday.

The German was officially confirmed in the role on Monday afternoon.

However, he will only be able to work in England, when his British work permit is finalized.

Rangnick has previously managed Hannover, Schalke, Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.

The 63-year-old replaces Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was sacked after a 4-1 defeat at Watford on November 20.

Former midfielder, Michael Carrick, will remain as caretaker manager until Rangnick’s work visa is completed.

Carrick has been in charge for the 2-0 win at Villarreal to secure a place in the Champions League knockout rounds and the 1-1 draw at Chelsea on Sunday.
